How it works

Learn it. Build it. Sell it.

The program runs September through June, with two sessions a month on evenings or Saturdays, plus local business site visits. Each student or pair launches one small enterprise in whatever field fits them:

01

Learn

Finding a customer, understanding the local market, costing and pricing, bookkeeping, selling, customer care, safety and a one-page business plan.
02

Build

Seed funds of up to $750 cover supplies, tools or startup costs. In build labs and studio time, students make a first version of their product or test their service.
03

Sell

Students make real sales or book real clients, then present their offer, costs, prices and results at a public Market & Showcase Night in Twisp.
04

Grow

Students debrief on their numbers and choose a next step, such as becoming a junior mentor next year, continuing the business over the summer or starting a school club.

Seed funds are a program expense, not a cash gift. Each purchase needs a one-page plan and written approval before money goes out, and anything over $200 needs two signatures. At the showcase, students may keep the net proceeds from their own sales after agreed input costs.
