About & mission
Real businesses, built in the valley
The Methow Valley runs on a rural, seasonal economy. Young people grow up around small shops, trades, farms, tourism and outdoor recreation, but there are few structured ways to learn how to start and run a real business here. Most business education happens in bigger cities.
The Academy closes that gap. Valley youth pick an idea they care about, such as a product, a service or a creative or digital project, and learn to find customers, price their work, sell it, keep books and treat customers well. Local customers and local businesses are the classroom.
The Methow Youth Enterprise Academy is a program of Indigo Unlimited, a nonprofit organization.
